I took these photos in my bedroom. All the editing I did was, color enhancement and cropping. These are some of my favorite pictures of myself that I have ever taken. Better than any selfie in the mirror. I am so grateful to have been given this challenge to take self portraits instead of selfies.

I Love to See the Temple

For this photo I cropped it and messed with the lighting. I love the original picture but the colors seen in the  edit. It almost makes it look like the lights were changed for the Christmas season.

The one on the right is an edit for sure, I cropped it, edited the colors, and edited out some of trees and the flag pole on top of some of the houses. I also altered the exposure.

I like this edit because its so odd. As you can see I can draw shadows, But any way the link to the photo of Ant Man that I cropped was pulled from the internet, just by searching "Antman".

This Picture demonstrates the Rule of Thirds and Color. I love that the basketball hoop is right on one of the points for the rule of thirds. and I just love the red color that the sun is making the clouds reflect.

I like this photo because I feel like it does a great job demonstrating symmetry. Both sides of the picture are equally divided down the center of the frame. Plus I love this picture because its my car :D

I feel like this photo is a great depiction of asymmetry.  Each book is a different thickness and height that could represent the amount of value each book has and how much knowledge you can get from each book.  

Color and Rules of Thirds

I feel like this photo is a great capture of  the clouds and the different shades of  grey in the clouds. I love the blue sky and how you can see the rays of the sun breaking through the clouds. This also captures the rule of thirds because the clouds takes up the top two thirds of the picture.

I feel like this is a good demonstration of the rule of thirds. The sun falls right in the middle box of the thirds grid. 

The Grey Crescent

I love the colors in this picture. I love the blue that fades in the mountains as the sun is rising. I like that the sky is a dark shade of blue and then there's the small white-grey slice that is the moon at this time of the month. 

What is an awesome photo?

I feel that this is an awesome photo because I just love the aged, vintage look. I feel like it perfectly describes what a typical wet, winter day in the desert looks like. This is probably one of my favorites that I have taken because I love seeing the clouds and each tree branch and the raindrops on my camera lens. I love this picture.

Pinhole Camera Class Project

For my photography class we where all assigned the task to make a Pinhole camera out of an old Pringles can. A Pinhole camera is the first type of camera made. It flips and reverses the image and is quite the task to maneuver but it super fun. As you can see, I decorated mine with Duct Tape to  give it that extra charm ;) Here are the instructions to make your own and here is how you learn to work it and a final place here is an art gallery.

How Do I Use Photography in my Life?

I like this photo because I like to see the contrast of colors. One half of the valley I live in was covered in warm sunlight, while on the other was a dark and haunting storm moving in.

What I love about photography is that you can capture a memory or the beauty of nature by simply pointing and clicking a button. I chose to take the photography class because I love the idea of capturing the moments I am living. I like use photos to show friends and family my memories and its handy as a visual aid for story telling. I don't know much about photography, but I hope that throughout my journey this semester I'll be able to better capture moments and appreciate what and where I live.
